Core Idea – A tool for users to create visual stories.

Product Features – Users can access photos from any app, drag and drop them, alter them and add captions to create stories. Also users can explore other stories on the app and also build a feed to get stories from people they follow.

Design – The tool is extremely easy to use and has a polished design.

CONCERNS

Competition – The app offers a service which is also being offered by other photo sharing apps now. Getting users to download another similar app is a daunting task ahead of the startup.

THE MODEL: A platform for photography enthusiasts to be inspired, receive recognition and improve their photography skills. Users can upload photos, explore photos, share them, comment on them, critique them and so on.

STARTUP: Youpic (Swedish startup)

WHAT I LIKE

Core Idea – A community for photography enthusiasts to learn, explore and share skills.

Product Features – The community lets users upload photos, explore photos, share photos, comment on photos, get feedback etc.

Gamification – Users are incentivized to be active on the forum. The more a user is active on the community, the more points the user earns. Points lead to rewards.

Revenue Model – The startup uses a Freemium Model to earn revenue.

CONCERNS

Competition – There are some photo sharing and storage communities. The startup tries to focus on the learning experience to differentiate itself.
